Tips and Maintenance

Be sure to consult the owner's manual after installation to become familiar with your wall-mounted, central and other air conditioners. Also, if your unit is having problems, try unplugging it before taking any further action. Sometimes, it’s all it takes to get it working again. 

• Please note that for a wall-mounted air conditioner, you'll need to turn off the power directly at the electrical box, or close the circuit breaker in your electrical panel.

• In the summer, wash your reusable filters in lukewarm water. If you have disposable filters, replace them directly. 
• For room or central air conditioners, make sure there are no objects in the way. 
• Also, for room or central air conditioners, clean the housing grid on your filters to ensure their maintenance and efficiency. 
• Please note that the frequency with which you clean your filters should entirely depend on the manufacturer's instructions. The level of dust to which your unit is exposed may also affect the frequency of maintenance.

Sometimes, unpleasant odours are a sign that there's mould in your appliance. If this is the case, the best steps to take are: 

• Thoroughly clean your condenser (the outside of the air conditioner) and evaporator.
• If the smell persists, contact a technician.

• Annual cleaning of your air conditioner's exterior.
• Remove debris.
• Wash with a gentle compressor jet. 
• Please note that we recommend washing with lukewarm water and mild detergent. Also, make sure you don't block the water and condensation drainage areas on your unit. 

Your wall-mounted air conditioner or heat pump has an outdoor unit, exposing it to the elements. For this reason, it's important to regularly inspect your units.  

• Remove any debris in the casing with a vacuum cleaner.
• During autumn and spring, gently clean the outdoor unit.
